What is Malaysia’s position on GloBE Rules?
As Prime Minister and Finance Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Bin Ibrahim announced during the budget speech 2024, Malaysia plans to implement the global minimum tax based on the GloBE Rules in 2025. This aligns with international taxation standards, especially in curbing tax base erosion activities and transferring profits to countries with low tax rates. Malaysia will continue to monitor the development of GloBE Rules at the international level.
